Shadchans.org is a free Jewish matchmaking service provided as a community mitzvah. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with the utmost care and discretion.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect the information you provide when registering and completing your questionnaire, including: your name and contact details, date of birth, religious background, family history, character traits, personal preferences, and health information relevant to compatibility. We also store your questionnaire answers, match history, and communication preferences.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for the purpose of finding compatible shidduch matches. It is processed by our automated matching system and reviewed by our administrative team (shadchanim) for quality and halachic verification purposes.

We use your email address to notify you of new matches and mutual interest expressions. We never use your information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to shidduchim.

4. Who Can See Your Information

Other members never see your questionnaire answers. They only see your first name and compatibility percentage. Full contact details are only shared when both parties explicitly agree to connect.

Our administrative team can view all profile information for the purpose of halachic verification, quality assurance, and resolving issues. All administrators are bound by strict confidentiality.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently and immediately removed from our system.

6. Data Security

Your data is stored securely on our servers. We use industry-standard security practices to protect against unauthorized access. Passwords are encrypted and never stored in plain text.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access your data (view your questionnaire answers on your profile page), correct your data (edit your questionnaire at any time), and delete your data (use the Delete Account option in your profile).
